Your role:
- Develop and maintain robust mobile applications using React Native with Expo for iOS and Android platforms.
- Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code adhering to industry best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
- Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
- Lead the transition of existing React web apps to React Native while staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in mobile development, mentoring and training teams, and overseeing the mobile development vertical.
- Become an ambassador of Villvay’s values when representing the company to its stakeholders
Required experience:
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Mobile app or React Native development.
- Firm grasp of JavaScript and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax.
- Experience in TypeScript is required.
- Ability to write well-documented, clean JavaScript/TypeScript code.
- Experience in the Expo framework and the Expo Router is required.
- Understanding of state management, and client (sync) and server (async) state.
- Knowledge of the composability pattern in React is a must.
- Understanding of REST APIs.
- Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest along with React Testing Library.
- Proficient understanding of Git.
Added advantages:
- Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
- Experience with native android and iOS app development.
- Experience in EAS (Expo Application Services).
- Prior experience in writing TypeScript with strict mode and other rules which increase strictness.
- Knowledge of concurrent rendering in React.
- Familiarity with tools such as pnpm, ESLint.
- Knowledge of Monorepos like Turborepo is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines.
